Tokyo Revengers : A New Side Of Invincible Mikey Revealed In Episode 11

Mikey of the Tokyo Revengers has always been unstoppable, but even the most powerful commanders have their moments of terror.

Since the premiere of Tokyo Revengers, Mikey has quickly become a fan favorite. Despite his past as a delinquent, he is a formidable leader, a real badass, and a man of principle. He’s also one of the series’ strongest characters, with a kick capable of knocking out men twice his height. But Mikey can’t be strong all of the time, and we witness a more vulnerable side of him in Episode 11 as he comes dangerously near to losing his pal.

As the sound of sirens drives the Moebius members fighting Takemichi and his companions to leave in “Respect,” it’s evident that Toman has soundly crushed the remaining Moebius members — save for Hanma, who only has eyes for Mikey. Hanma’s true duty is in Valhalla, where he is the first vice commander, and he taunts him, reminding him that he hasn’t seen the last of him. And Valhalla, he swears, will never let Toman to live in peace. Mikey is on his motorcycle and speeding towards the hospital as soon as Hanma leaves.

Draken’s condition is deteriorating by the second in an ambulance. Before he slips into cardiac arrest, Takemichi asks him to look after Mikey for him. When they arrive at the hospital, the paramedics immediately begin CPR, but there is no pulse, so Draken is rushed into surgery right away, leaving the rest of Takemichi’s pals, including Peh-yan and Mitsuya, to wait and see what happens.

Mikey joins them, his face still displaying signs of the struggle with Hanma, but his stare remains steady and unyielding, showing no sign of the panic that everyone else is experiencing. Draken once told Mikey that he would control the world alongside him and help create a new century of delinquents, Mikey tells them. Draken will not die as a result of his refusal to break his commitment. Mikey’s smile instantly alleviates their concerns. After all, why should anyone question Mikey if he is so certain that his best friend would survive?

Draken’s procedure went well. Mikey softly sneaks away while Mitsuya goes out to inform the rest of Toman. He breaks down as soon as he’s alone, crying out of relief and dread. Despite putting on a rough exterior, he was frightened of losing Draken. Draken is not only Toman’s and Mikey’s heart (the group was corrupted after Draken’s death in a previous timeline), but also Toman’s and Mikey’s. Even if he’s terrified, he can’t afford to exhibit his emotions. If “Invincible Mikey” falls apart, so will Toman. Mikey’s emotions had nowhere to go but internally as a result of this.

Meanwhile, Takemichi is a completely different person when he sees Draken in the hospital. His shirt isn’t buttoned properly, and he’s wearing “OUTLAW” shorts with purple sunglasses over his crotch. Draken puts him in his place right away, refusing to allow him enjoy any of the glory that comes with beating Moebius and saving the vice commander, which irritates Takemichi.

But then Draken presents Mikey with his gift: a Toman uniform, the same one he wore when he first created Toman — the clearest proof of Mikey’s gratitude. Takemichi saved Toman by saving Draken. It’s a hefty and significant burden for him to bear, and Takemichi isn’t sure he’s ready for it just yet. Draken merely orders him to speak with Mikey.

Mikey has felt nervous at Tokyo Revengers since his encounter with Moebius. He’s not sure how everything goes together: Hanma’s attempt to break up Toman, Kiyomasa’s attempt to kill Draken, and Takemichi’s ability to predict events before they occur. So, in Episode 11, he eventually confronts Takemichi and inquires about his identity. Mikey has questioned Takemichi’s identity before, but this time he seems more certain than ever that he isn’t a regular middle-schooler. Mikey, on the other hand, quickly dispels the tension by complimenting Takemichi instead.

After completing his mission, Takemichi returns to the present timeline and presents Hina with a four-leaf clover necklace. At first glance, nothing appears to have changed, but not only is Akkun still alive and well, preparing to start his dream career as a hairstylist, but Hina is also still alive. The topic of whether Takemichi has genuinely succeeded in altering the future will be addressed in next week’s episode.
